Why Choose an Electrified Subaru?

EASIER THAN EVER BEFORE

The availability of public charging stations is growing rapidly, making it more convenient to charge EVs on long trips. Home charging solutions are also becoming more accessible and affordable. Making the switch easier than ever before!

FAMILIAR DRIVING HABITS

    Impressive Fully-Electric Range
  • Most Canadians drive less than 50 km per day, and with today’s Subaru EVs delivering up to 480km* of range or more, a full week of driving is well within reach after just one home charge.

  • Hassel-Free Hybrid Driving
  • Hybrid electric powertrains work automatically in the background, so you don’t need to change a thing about how you drive or fuel your vehicle. The hybrid battery recharges on the go so you have the added confidence to get you where you need to go, without the need to plug in.

FUEL SAVINGS

While EVs can have higher upfront costs, charging an EV costs 5–10× less than filling a gas tank for the same distance. Over time, this can make an electric vehicle more affordable.

  • Fuel savings can be even higher if you recharge during off-peak hours.
  • Depending on your vehicle's fuel type and driving habits, you can spend some of the time in zero-fuel, zero-emissions driving.

NO ADDITIONAL MAINTENANCE

    BEV Maintenance
  • Subaru EVs are simpler to maintain than traditional gas-powered cars. Fewer moving parts means fewer service visits, no oil changes, and less time spent in the shop. On top of that, the regenerative braking in these vehicles reduces brake pad wear, lowering maintenance costs over time.

  • Hybrid Maintenance
  • Hybrid vehicles follow the same maintenance schedule as gas-powered vehicles — every 6 months or 8,000 KM (whichever comes first) — but the way the hybrid electric system works may reduce how often other areas of the car need servicing.
  • Hybrids use regenerative braking that saves pad & rotor life. There is also no transmission fluid under load, no starters, alternators or belts to be replaced.

FAST & SAFE

With a low center of gravity and instant torque, Subaru EVs deliver precise power to the wheels. Combined with advanced traction control, they offer better acceleration and stability on slippery winter roads.

Are Subaru Electrified Vehicles Safe?
Subaru EVs are engineered with a super-rigid crash protective structure, standard EyeSight®1 driver assist technology, and Symmetrical Full-time All-Wheel-Drive is standard or available on all Subaru EV models, for stable handling in any weather.

EVAP Incentive Program

The Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) is a federal program that offers direct incentives on eligible EV purchases and leases with a final transaction value of $50,000 or less. You could save up to $5,000 in federal incentives.

Disclaimer

*Incentives are applicable to eligible new vehicle purchases and leases with a final transaction value of $50,000 or less. Lease incentives are calculated based on the lease length. To qualify, electric vehicles must be made in Canada or in countries that have free-trade agreements with Canada. The Minister of Transport Canada has final say on vehicle and transaction eligibility. The program and its terms and conditions may change over time. Visit https://tc.canada.ca/en/road-transportation/innovative-technologies/zero-emission-vehicles/electric-vehicle-affordability-program-evap for complete details.

*Based on Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) approved guidelines. Refer to NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide available at https://fcr-ccc.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/en for more information. Full battery charge and ideal conditions are required. Figures will vary with driving and charging habits, speed, accessory use, weather and temperature, battery age, vehicle condition and road condition. In non-ideal conditions, figures may worsen by more than 50%. Battery capacity decreases with time and use which will further reduce range. See owner’s manual for details.

1To reduce risk of fire, injury, or property damage, only (i) purchase/install a safety certified EV charger with voltage/current that are vehicle compatible (ii) use a licensed insured electrical professional to install charger (iii) install and operate in accordance with charger manufacturer's instructions/warnings and applicable laws.

2Public charging experience can vary based on charger level and other vehicle and environmental conditions.

3Under ideal conditions (external air temperature of 25 degrees Celsius with 150kW or above Level 3 DC Fast Charger), you can charge from 10 % (Low Battery Light) to 80% in as quickly as 30 minutes (FWD) or 35 minutes (AWD) although a number of variables will result in significantly longer charge times. Level 3 DC Fast Charging currently only available at public charging stations.

4Public charging experience can vary based on charger level and other vehicle and environmental conditions. Level 3 charging may not be possible below 0 degrees Celsius.

5At temperatures as low as -10°C while using the vehicle’s battery preconditioning system.
